Our design solution stretches from brand through to interior and signage, and employs a raw and natural aesthetic that is sympathetic to the restaurant’s culinary approach. One of the features of the interior design is a commissioned art piece from CJ Hendry an emerging young artist based in Bris­bane. CJ is renowned for intric­ate photoreal­ist still life pen draw­ings. The logo is a deliberate reference to the free-spirited nature of a Nomad with letters drift­ing from their original place.”

my senior year of high school was so wild; the visual and performing arts kids had to all put on a play and i got to do most of the graphic design and marketing stuff so i had to make all the posters, etc.

i made this background texture entirely out of ewoks

then i used it on posters like this (old work dont judge)

and they got put up all over the school and nobody except the art kids knew that there were 1000000 ewoks providing texture to the background

today in art 120, my intro to design class

our professor asked us to ‘draw a picture of a creature riding a bike’ to get to know us

and when he said creature I thought he meant like, monster, that kind of thing

and about a minute in I look around

and the three other people at my table have drawn an elephant, a squirrel, and another elephant, respectively

and I’ve drawn

A related fun fact: while old black and white film was under-sensitive to reds, it was correspondingly over-sensitive to greens. Actors whose characters were meant to have unnaturally pale complexions - like Morticia Addams - would often take advantage of this by wearing makeup with a green base tint in order to make their faces “pop”. This is where the modern trope of cartoon vampires having green skin comes from.
